Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

Accelerated Resolution Therapy is an evidence-based treatment that focuses on images in the brain and uses eye movements to help resolve painful issues rapidly (usually within one to five sessions).

Unlike talk therapy, minimal talking is required by the client. ART can be used with adult and child clients suffering from trauma and other mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, phobias, panic attacks, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), addictions, alcohol/substance misuse, performance anxiety, victimization, negative self-image, relationship issues, infidelity, grief, job-related stress, pain management, codependency, and dyslexia.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy works directly to reprogram the way in which distressing memories and images are stored in the brain so that they no longer trigger strong physical and emotional reactions.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is an evidenced-based form of psychotherapy for helping people of all ages address a myriad of challenges, including PTSD, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, and addiction.

EMDR utilizes a body-based technique called bilateral stimulation during which a therapist will guide a client through eye movements or taps to change how the brain saves a memory. In this way, disturbing memories lose their emotional charge, and the unpleasant physical sensations that can occur when a person feels as if they are re-living a traumatic incident are decreased.

EMDR therapy does not require talking in detail about the bothersome issue.

Emily Downer, LPCC-S and Christina Bacon, LPP are EMDR therapists. To schedule: [email protected] | [email protected]
